For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with Thee.

Psalm 139:17,18

52 FACTS OF
SALVATION

“The Legacy of Christianity”

Taken by permission from book, “Believers In Action”

by T. L. Osborn
- ISBN 0-87943-133-4

Here are the significant facts of the Christian faith for salvation – treasured by First Century believers, lost during the Dark Ages, but now rediscovered by millions around the world. These 52 facts are fundamental to experiencing Christ’s salvation and His companionship as your friend.

1. We were unsaved before we received Christ. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
- Romans 3:23

2. We were guilty before God, under the penalty of death. For the wages of sin is death.
- Romans 6:23

3. But God loved us too much to see us perish. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9

4. God offered His best to prove His love for us. He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16

5. Christ was God’s gift to us and He died for you and for me. But God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

6. We realize that our sins had separated us from God. Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you. - Isaiah 59:2

7. Knowing that our sins cost God His Son, and Jesus His life and blood, we repent of them. You sorrowed to repentance … for godly sorrow works repentance, and you know that except you repent you shall perish. - 2 Corinthians 7:9-10; Luke 13:3

8. We confess our sins to Him and are cleansed. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  - I John 1:9

9. We recognize Jesus at the door of our heart. We open it and He comes in. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if you hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in and will sup with you and you with Me [dine together and have fellowship]. - Revelation 3:20

10. We receive Jesus and become God’s child. As many as received Jesus Christ, to them He gave power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on His name. - John 1:12

11. We become a new creature. If any one be in Christ, that one is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17

12. We know we are born again because we receive Christ. Jesus said, You must be born again. And when you received Christ with power to become God’s child, you were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a human being, but of God, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. - John 3:7; John 1:12, 13; 1 Peter 1:23

13. We believe the powerful message of the Gospel that saves us. The Gospel … is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes.
- Romans 1:16

14. We believe on the name of Jesus Christ because of the record of the gospels. These are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing, you might have life through His name. - John 20:31

15. We call on His name and we are saved. Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13

16. We recognize that Jesus is the only way to God. I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me; for there is one God, and one mediator between God and people, the man Christ Jesus. - John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5

17. We know there is salvation in none other. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given, whereby we must be saved.  - Acts 4:12

18. We put our faith in Jesus as our personal Savior. For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any one should boast.
- Ephesians 2:8-9

19. We believe that the Lord comes into our life. I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people … I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. -  2 Corinthians 6:16,18

20. We do not trust in any good works of self-righteousness to be saved. Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Your salvation was not of works, lest any one should boast. - Isaiah 64:6; Ephesians 2:9

21. We are saved only by God’s mercy. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saves us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. - Titus 3:5-7

22. We know Christ’s death justifies us before God. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 5:1

23. We know His blood remits (removes, eradicates and absolves from punishment) our sins forever. This is my blood … which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28

24. We know we are cleansed from sin. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood; in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. - Revelation 1:5; Colossians 1:14

25. We know our sins are put away and forgotten. Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sins of the world, having removed our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west, so that our sins and iniquities will He remember no more. - John 1:29; Psalm 103:12; Hebrews 10:17

26. We know our sins were paid for by Christ’s death. Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. - 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5

27. With our sins punished and expunged, we know they can never condemn us again. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, for God made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ, and where remission is, there is no more offering for sin, so that now nothing shall separate us from the love of Christ.  - Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 10:18; Romans 8:35-39

28. We know when we accept Christ that we receive His life. Those who have the Son have life, for they that hear My word, and believe on Him that sent Me, have everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation but are passed from death to life. And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent. - 1 John 5:12; John 5:24; John 17:3

29. We know satan will accuse us. He is the accuser which accused them before our God day and night just like he did Job.
Revelation 12:10; Job 1:6-12

30. We are not ignorant of satan’s works. Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. For we know that he comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

2 Corinthians 2:11; John 10:10

31. We know how Jesus overcame him. But He answered and said, It is written … then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.
-  Matthew 4:4,7,10-11

32. We know Jesus proved that satan could not win. Christ was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16

33. We know He faithfully helps us in temptation. There is no temptation taken you but such as is common to humankind: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

34. We know that there are two weapons satan can never resist. And they overcame him [the devil who accused them before God day and night] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. Revelation 12:11

35. We know satan cannot win over our faith. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour; whom resist steadfast in the faith. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you; but the begotten of God keep themselves, and that wicked one touches them not.
- 1 Peter 5:8-9; James 4:7-8; 1 John 5:18

36. We know our faith is the victory. For whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.  - 1 John 5:4

37. We know not to love the world but to do God’s will. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but those that do the will of God abide for ever.  -  I John 2:15-17

38. We know Christ came to defeat our enemy. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. I John 3:8

39. We know satan is no match for Christ in us. Christ in you, the hope of glory. I will dwell in you and walk in you … says the Lord Almighty. You are of God, little children, and have overcome … because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. Colossians 1:27; 2 Corinthians 6:16-18; 1 John 4:4

40. We know our new life source is the Lord Jesus Christ. I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

41. We know our new life has divine purpose. The steps of good people are ordered by the Lord: and God delights in their ways. Though they fall, they shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds them with His hand. - Psalm 37:23-24

42. We know God sees us and hears us. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers. - 1 Peter 3:12

43. We know that He invites us to call upon Him. Call unto Me, and I will answer you. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone that asks receives.
Jeremiah 33:3; Luke 11:9-10

44. We know when we pray that He answers. Whatever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them; whatever you shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  - Mark 11:24; John 14:13

45. We know that we belong to God’s royal family. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him Who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
-  1 Peter 2:9

46. We know that all that Christ has now belongs to us. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. And so we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like God’s very own children, adopted into the bosom of His family, and calling to Him, ‘Father, Father,’ for His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts, and tells us that we really are God’s children. And since we are His children, we will share His treasures – for all God gives to His Son Jesus is now ours too. - Romans 8:14-17 LB (Living Bible)

47. We know we have His life in our flesh now. That the life of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh; for your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. -  2 Corinthians 4:11; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

48. We know we never need to live in want again. My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus; for no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. Philippians 4:19; Psalm 84:11

49. We no longer fear diseases and plagues. There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come nigh your dwelling; because I am the Lord that heals you. Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, and with His stripes, we are healed. - Psalm 91:10; Exodus 15:26; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24

50. We no longer are oppressed by problems. Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7

51. We know that we are winners. For if God be for us, who can be against us? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; and Faithful is He that calls you; Who also will do it. - Romans 8:31; 1 Thessalonians 5:24

52. We know Christ is with us to the end. For He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what any person shall do to me; and lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. –  Hebrews 13:5-6; Matthew 28:20
